Dan Lofgren is a successful
business owner, involved parent of school-aged children and a long-time
community
leader. Dan has proven himself to be a bold and effective advocate for
schools and the community and has distinguished himself in public service.
Based on
experience as a successful businessman and having served as chair or vice
chair of several significant public
institutions, including the Utah Housing Corporation, Utah Quality Growth
Commission, Salt Lake County Housing Authority and SITLA, Dan is particularly
well qualified to fulfill the role of oversight of the district budget,
which runs well over half of a billion dollars annually.
Dan currently serves the education community
as a member of the Board of Trustees of the School and Institutional
Trust Lands Administration (SITLA), along with engagement in several
other civic or public organizations.
Dan was raised in the East Mill Creek
area and has raised his family there. He is a graduate of Olympus High
School and the University of Utah. Dan and his wife Deena have a son
currently attending Wasatch Jr., a son and a daughter at Skyline High
School and a son who graduated from Skyline and has just finished his
freshman year at BYU.
Dan has served on the Skyline Community
Council and Deena has been PTA president at both the elementary and
junior high level. Dan has served on several other community-based boards
and committees where he has consistently been a champion for our schools
and our neighborhoods.
Professional Experience
President, Cowboy Partners and
Cowboy Properties - Dan is the founder and CEO of this Holladay-based
real estate development and property management organization with operations
in five western states.
Dan’s prior experience
includes over 20 years as an executive with Prowswood Companies where he
was president
for 13 years, before creating Cowboy Partners and its sister company
Cowboy Properties.
